Where To Look For Summits

     ✔️     Social media

How To Position Yourself

➡️     You have to have an interesting story

➡️     Find what makes you stand out

How She Deals With People Who Reach Out To Her

     👉     Go with feel

  • How they approach her

  • Research who’s approaching

  • See how she vibes with the person

What To Consider When Reaching Out TO Speakers

     ❇️     Pre-interview them

❇️     Have some kind of pre-screening process

❇️     If their application's boring, just get rid of them

❇️     Have a brief five minute or less conversation with these people

  • Make them stick to five minutes

  • That'll tell you if they're actually gonna follow your time rules

  • See how the conversation goes

  • Is it upbeat? Is it exciting? Is it energetic? Is it something that you would want to listen to?

  • If it's not move on

Takeaways From The Summits She Attended

✔️    Wow factor of the speaker

✔️     You have to be engaging to keep people listening

✔️     Make sure that you're getting people that are relevant to your audience

✔️     Deal with people that talk in layman's terms

Advice On Improving Speech/Sessions

➡️     Over practice. There’s no such thing as too much practice.

➡️     Be the best that you can be

➡️     Pre-practice that speech over and over again

     ➡️     Don't do a pre-canned speech because that's boring

     ➡️     Practice like crazy

➡️     Start learning how to read people to know where your strong points are

How To Keep Audience Engaged

     👉     Audience participation

👉     Give them something that they need to physically do

👉     Give them something that their brain should be thinking even if they're not doing it, that their brain is thinking about doing it

👉     Give them something that makes them continue to think about what they learned

👉     Give them an easy actionable step of something that's not a huge hurdle for the listener

👉     Give them a quick short, easy plan that they can follow through and feel competent about themselves

Dealing With Ininteresting Summit Hosts/Speakers

❇️     Write down potential questions and/or answers

❇️     You have to be prepared on both sides

❇️     Your host or your speaker might not keep talking and you have to fill that gap

❇️     Get ready to talk about things that you might not even have any idea that you're going to talk about

❇️     Try to prepare as much as possible in advance

Krista's Advice For Summit Hosts

"So I will tell you that honestly for about a week after this all happened with the Coronavirus stuff, I got frozen, which hasn't happened to me in probably 20 years. And it surprised me cause I don't normally get frozen on stuff, but I did. I got frozen. I gave myself my week to figure out what in the heck was going on with the world and my opinions on it or whatnot. And then I pulled up my big girl panties and I moved on. And so my, my belief is that I'm going to come out of this super strong because I've been super proactive. I'm putting out information that's helpful. I'm not selling anything right now. It's not a time for selling in my opinion, but I am giving useful information to my client base. So I think if you're thinking about starting a summit, people are at home, people are bored, people are looking for ways to become educated, to become smarter, to not be in this situation again, to improve their life in some way.

So if you're thinking about putting summits together, why not do all the leg work now and then you can make a decision, do you want to launch it now or none of us know, is this a month? Is this three months? How long is this going to last? Well maybe you're not sure. So wait a few weeks and then it might make sense to go ahead and launch it. But if you have all the work done, then you're ready to go for whenever the opportune time for you is. Plus if you end up having more time, you can edit more, you can add more features, you can add more people, you can make it really, really awesome. So that coming out of this or being in the middle of this, you're the strongest and best out there. So I would definitely recommend,  if it's something you're interested in doing, why not use this time? You probably have more free time than you ever anticipated. You'd be a fool not to take advantage of the time in some capacity. And I, you know, I say that, but I should be exercising more during this too and I'm not doing that. So we can't all do everything, right?"
